Many people think that literature died in Russia, with the collapse of the Union of Soviets. Indeed, it is now very difficult to immediately name a Russian poet or prose writer, without thinking about it, or not searching the Internet. However, this is a big mistake. Good authors on Russian soil have not yet been translated. There is such a cycle of Russian science fiction “Ethnogenesis”. All the books of their universe are connected to each other. Unfortunately, they are no longer being published. But reading works that have come out of the pen of the authors of this cycle is a pleasure.
- Maroussia - It is from this book that one should begin acquaintance with this universe. This is their very first work written by Polina Volshina. She talks about an ordinary girl who falls into an incredible chain of events. And it all starts with the fact that a certain person throws a mysterious object to her - a small lizard. Subsequently, empirically, the girl learns that this item makes her immortal. A simple, seemingly simple plot makes you think that you are part of all the events that Maroussia experiences. Only 3 books are devoted to the development of this storyline. The second part, by the way, was written by another author - Sergey Volkov. It is somewhat different in style, but retains the atmosphere of the previous parts.
- All books are linked. "Billionaire" Cyril Benidiktova tells the story of the father of Maroussi and also consists of three works. Andrei Gumilyov, grandson of the great poet N.S. Gumilyova, falls into a trap. The anti-state organization, with the help of another subject - the eagle, makes Andrei work for them. To be sure, they also abduct his daughter. But Gumilyov is not one of those who will put up with this. For his child, he is ready to fight to the end, even knowing that he is going against a powerful organization that wants to establish the fourth Reich.
- Hackers - one of the most famous Ethnogenesis trilogies. Alexander Chubaryan, although he did not write the last book of the trilogy, masterfully connects the life of the reader and the two main characters - Lex and Nick. They met a mysterious girl - Sinka. Because of her, the life of two guys turns into hell. Work at mail.ru is not so promising. Nick has to go on the run. And the next item is to blame for everything - the spider. It gives its owner a unique ability to build a web of events. The guys are drawn into a situation for which they were not ready. It is very exciting to follow the changes in their character, to observe how they grow up. The author coped with his task perfectly.
- Armagedon. The events of this book, written by Yuri Burnosov, take place in Mexico. Due to the sloppiness of archaeologists America is covered by a virus. A third of the population turns into bloodthirsty killers. However, there are people who are immune. One of these was the Russian hockey player Rostislav Shibanov. The mysterious scorpion figure will help him and his team survive, granting good luck in good deeds.
- "Tsunami" written by Alexei Lukyanov. His heroes, brothers Egor and Yusya, are left without parental care. Their disability greatly alienates them from society. Then the brothers gain strength. In their hands are three objects at once: a badger (allows you to see through the ground), a mole (allows you to dig underground passages) and a rooster (enhances intuition). With the appearance of artifacts, the brothers seem to attract trouble. This is due to the fact that they are not the only ones who need these forces.
- From the hands of Karina Shahinyan comes out "Trap". Lisa is only nine years old, but she and a few others find themselves in the middle of a snow storm, in a small house. Mysterious murders, shamanistic rituals, attempts to escape are waiting for her. The object that suddenly appeared in the girl - a sparrow, which allows you to return the souls of the dead, will play its role. Only one book has been published, but it will keep in suspense and will force to empathize with the fate of the little girl throughout the story.
And all these books are just the tip of the iceberg. In books not one subject appears, but many. People fight each other for the right to possess at least some power. Some use artifact magic to achieve a goal. But one thing is clear - these things are not so simple, they have consciousness. Ethnogenesis created a beautiful universe. It is unfortunate that many works will no longer be continued ... Or not?
