As a rule, each of us seeks to obey the laws of the society in which we live. This is the key to the prosperity of the country and the world. However, there are situations when a person has the right to act as he does, it is he who considers it necessary. What are these circumstances? Consider typical examples from books.
One of them was described by M. Gorky in the story “The Old Woman Isergil”. Danko, still a young man, took command of the tribe to lead people out of the forest, where they were hiding from enemies. He criticized the actions of the elders and went against the hierarchy. At first, people believed in him, but then, tired of the hardships and deprivations of the path, they began to reproach him. They refused to continue the journey, having lost faith in what he promised them. But even then the brave man did not listen to them, went against the society, tearing out his heart and illuminating the way forward for them. Thanks to him, fellow tribesmen came to light and were saved. Obviously, all of them were afraid to take risks and were mistaken, and only Danko managed to defeat this fear and find a way out of the situation. For the sake of this, however, he destroyed the habitual way of life of the society in which he lived.
Another example was described by the same author in the story Makar Chudra. The old man tells his interlocutor his philosophy of life, illustrating it with the story of gypsies in love. He puts freedom above all blessings, therefore he does not strive for the rest of the people to exalt so. He does not need material wealth, a quiet house and family, he sees the meaning of life only in lonely wanderings around the world. He even tells an example from life when Rudda and Loiko were able to sacrifice love for the sake of independence. The laws of society impose other values, but the couple in love went against everything in the world. Rudda made Loiko condition that he publicly recognize her power in their relationship, kneeling before her. The man loved her very much, but could not do this, killing the girl in front of the whole tribe. From her father, he also calmly accepted death, never submitting to someone’s will. Heroes died in the color of years, went against attitudes and rules, but remained faithful to their beliefs, so in their case, the rebellion is fully justified. You can not live changing a dream.
Thus, a person can violate the laws of society if he feels that he cannot accept these laws. Also, the rebellion of the individual is necessary if the collective is mistaken and goes to death himself because of fear or prejudice. However, any resistance should do without sacrifices on the part of society; a person has the right to decide only his fate.
